Minimum Requirements for Entry

 

Teams will be selected for this division based off results of the 2004 seasonal year. For new Super Y-League divisions, clubs must be at the highest competitive levels within their State / Region / Province (Canada). Each organization must secure a facility within the minimum standards of the league. All teams must have a team manager for the duration of the season that will be responsible for all team management, communication, scheduling and registration.

Northeast Conference - New England, Metro, Mid Atlantic Divisions

Southern Conference - South Atlantic, Southeast, Texas Divisions

Central Conference - Midwest, Great Lakes, Ontario Divisions

Western Conference - Pacific, Southwest, Northwest Divisions

 

Schedule

 

The regular season will consist of 16 matches. Each team will compete home and away within the division and six cross-divisional matches within two separate three match series at the beginning and end of the regular season. The total point leader within the division will culminate the season with the Super Y-League North American ODP Finals, which will consist of a minimum four games.

Season Dates

Regular season play will begin no earlier than March 1, 2005 depending on the geographic division. The regular season will culminate November 1, 2005. Depending on the Division, league dates will vary due to climate and scholastic soccer.   Each Division will set its schedule of matches at the Super Y-League North American Operations and Scheduling Meeting. The Super Y-League ODP North American Finals will be held Thanksgiving weekend in 2005. 

 

Promotion and Relegation

The Premier Division is the highest level league in the United States and Canada. The top team in the First Division will be promoted to the Premier Division in the following season.  If a team does not meet league minimum standards they may be withheld from promotion.  The bottom team in the Premier Division standings will be relegated to the First Division. 

 

League Fees

The league fee of $1000.00 covers administration, scheduling, referee assignment, public relations, marketing, regular season standings, statistics, web site, ODP player identification and the staging of the Super Y-League North American ODP Finals.  The performance bond will cover all teams within a club that compete in either the Premier or First Division.

 

Performance Bond

Each club will be required to provide a Letter of Credit to ensure that the commitments of each of the clubs minimum standards requirements.

Player Identification

The Super Y-League has an official Olympic Development Program sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee and the United Soccer Federation to identify players to U.S. National Team Programs. 

 

National Cup

The US Club Soccer National Cup is the official national youth cup of the Super Y-League.  Super Y-League teams automatically are eligible to qualify for the US Club Soccer National Cup.  A qualification system through SYL competition will be developed.

 

Immigration/Nationality

No restrictions.

 

Recruiting

No restrictions. Teams may recruit players year round. The Super Y-League is not subject to USYS State Association "poaching" laws. USSF Bylaws allow for coaches of USSF member organizations to recruit year round for a players participation in the Super Y-League.

 

Registration

All players, coaches and managers must comply with the registration requirements of US Club Soccer, the official team registration system of the Super Y-League. All registration is completed online at www.usclubsoccer.com. When registered, SYL teams are also league members of US Club Soccer, and as such, can use their player cards to enter into other tournaments and competitions throughout the year.

 

Application Deadline
