On a warm morning at the IMG Soccer Academy, the almost 200 players at the USL Super Y-League Girls ODP Training Camp were put through their paces in physical testing and on the practice field as they participated in the first full day of training of the weekend. Most players arrived at the world-class facilities on Thursday, but in the opening two sessions many of the players had already shown why they had been selected to participate in the four-day camp.

The United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League opens its 2011/12 Olympic Development Program Girls National Camp Thursday, with 185 of the top U13-U17 players in North America set to descend on IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. On the heels of a highly successful boys ODP camp held this past week, the camp will run through Sunday, March 4. Participants will learn under the watchful eyes of some of the top coaches in North America who will provide instruction and evaluation under the direction of USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor.

When he arrived at IMG Academies last Thursday as one of the 97/98 players selected to participate at the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program National Camp, Etan Mabourakh certainly wouldn’t have expected to be playing against the U.S. U17 National Team three days later. But on Sunday morning, there he was, playing the second half of the 95/96 Select ‘A’ team’s game against the Richie Williams-led squad on the IMG Soccer Academy’s stadium field.

The USL Super Y-League announced on Tuesday its 2012 Boys Olympic Development Camp Select Teams, honoring the players in the 95/96 and 97/98 age groups that had standout performances at the annual SYL ODP National Camp that was held this past weekend at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla. The players were selected from a pool of more than 200 total players in attendance by the coaches who led the players for the four-day camp under the supervision of USL National Technical Director, Peter Mellor.

The 2012 Super Y-League Boys ODP National Camp finished on a high note Sunday at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida, with the top performers from the four-day camp receiving an opportunity they will not soon forget. With the camp being held at the home of the U.S. U17 National Team Residency, the SYL ODP 1995/96 Select A and Select B teams had the honor of finishing out camp with scrimmages against the U17 national team, split into two squads.

As players arrived at the IMG Soccer Academy for the USL Super Y-League Boys Olympic Development Camp on Thursday, the second consecutive year the event has been held on the IMG Academies campus, they were met by pristine conditions and perfect weather. For USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor, that’s exactly as it should be. 

United Soccer Leagues is pleased to announce that T4 Soccer, LLC has been selected as the 2012 USL Super-Y League ODP National Camps Official Performance Testing Partner. T4 will performance test players participating at the 2012 Super Y-League ODP National Camps at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. The camps, with more than 400 registered players, are scheduled to run from February 23-26 (boys) and March 1-4 (girls).

The United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League opens its 2011/12 Olympic Development Program Boys National Camp Thursday, with 185 of the top U13-U17 players in North America set to descend on IMG Academies in Bradenton, Florida. The boys’ camp will run through Sunday, February 26, with an experienced and diverse roster of coaches on hand to provide instruction and evaluation under the direction of USL National Technical Director Peter Mellor, who has spent the past 18 years as a member of the U.S. National Staff and 25 years as an ODP coach.
