Fox Soccer Channel Match up: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chicago Magic Saturday nights match to be aired on December 3rd at 8pm ET
On Saturday, November 19th at 6:30pm the Super Y-League will host a featured game at the Ed Radice Sports Complex that will be shown nation-wide on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports World-Canada. The match will feature the Vancouver Whitecaps FC U16 Boys against the Chicago Magic U16 Boys.
The Whitecaps are led by Alex Martinez a deceptively clever attacking midfielder. Martinez leads the Caps with 17 points, including seven goals. Martinez has a strong supporting cast in midfielders Ricardo Teixeira, Scott Barling and Said Bedouhene. On the backline the Whitecaps are solid with Ricky Sahota and Scott Stefanek. Fullback Liam McKinnon is a tenacious defender who also gets into great attacking positions up the left flank. Vancouver finished the regular season with a 9-2-3 record, good for second in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference
The Chicago Magic come in to the tournament at 9-1-0 and finished as the runner-up from the Midwest backing up Kalamazoo on goal differential. The squad has won two straight North American Championships (2003 and 2004) and looks to add a third to that prestigious run. Forward Ross La Bauex, a 2004 SYL ODP selection, led the team in scoring with six goals.
The match will air on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports World Canada on Saturday, December 3rd at 8pm ET.
In addition to the match, the USL Players' Village will be open, and the raffle winners will be announced at halftime of this game.
