RSL Arizona Undefeated in Week 19
RSL Arizona U16’s capture 2007 Super Y-League Rocky Mountain Division

PHOENIX, ARIZONA – RSL Arizona hosted eight matches of the Super Y-League Rocky Mountain Division during Week 19 at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona. RSL Arizona U16’s won their first match of the weekend on Friday night with a 6-0 victory over the visiting Colorado Rapids. Goals were scored by Nick Ayers, Adrian Saldana, Eduardo Sanchez, Zach Cuzzocreo, Austin Fares, and Alan Puga-Pulido. Michael D’Arrigo and Justin Incarnati combined for the shut-out.

On Sunday, RSL Arizona hosted RSL Utah and captured a 1-0 victory and secured the Rocky Mountain Division U16 Championship. The lone goal came on a Nick Ayers header with the assist from Eduardo Sanchez. D’Arrigo and Incarnati again combined for the shut-out and have only allowed one goal through four games this season. Next-up for the RSL Arizona U16’s is a Saturday, August 4th match against the Boulder County Force. The game will kick off at 11:00 a.m. from Judge Memorial HS in Salt Lake City, Utah. The following day the teams square off for the grudge match at 1:30 p.m. from the same facility.

RSL Arizona U17’s also secured all available victories in Week 19. On Friday night, the team defeated the Colorado Rapids 2-1 on goals from Nick DeLeon and Chris Yoder. Saturday evening the team defeated the Colorado Rush 4-1 on two goals from Temi Moilnar and one each from Chris Green and Marc Darling in victory. On Sunday, the squad capped off the weekend with a 2-1 victory over RSL Utah. Tyler Schultz and Nick DeLeon had the goals for RSL Arizona. The victories place RSL Arizona near the top of the standings with two games remaining in the 2007 season.

Next-up for the RSL Arizona U17’s are the Boulder County Force on Saturday, August 4. The match kicks off at 9:00 a.m. from Judge Memorial HS in Salt Lake City, Utah. The teams face each other again the following day at 3:00 p.m.

The RSL Arizona teams were created through a try-out selection process and consist of some of the top youth players Arizona has to offer. The teams are a part of the Youth Development Program for Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer and an overall part of the current youth development initiative by MLS.
