CUPERTINO, CA - Robert Adam, a 6’2" Vancouver, BC born player today transferred from De Anza Force 90 Blue under coach Jeff Baicher and Chris Dangerfield, to Heart Of Midlothian FC of the Scottish Premier League and Darren Murray, Hearts U19 coach.

"Robert is a big, strong, fast, skillful center defender and it comes as no surprise that Hearts would sign him as a professional for their U-19 team." said Jeff Baicher, President of the De Anza Force Soccer Club in Cupertino, California. "We always knew he had what it takes and he’s worked hard for it. Robert is a great example of the kind of talent we like to develop at De Anza Force.”

"Robert came over on trial in November...He’s a right-sided centre back and we’re hopeful this will be a good partnership in the future for the youth team, and beyond." stated John Murray on the Hearts website on Thursday. John Murray is the Youth Academy Director for Hearts FC based at the state-of-the-art facility at Heriot Watts University in Riccarton on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Robert signed his two and a half year contract at Hearts home stadium Tynecastle in Edinburgh’s Gorgie District.

"I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity by Hearts management with strong support from De Anza Force. They have a great set-up here at Riccarton with strong coaching and a great sports therapy, and training teams." Robert Adam said on Thursday after signing. "I have been given a solid foundation in California, I moved there when I was 2 and I started playing there at 6, now its up to me at 17 to make the most of it at Hearts. It’s a great opportunity!"

In March 2006 Robert played center defender for the Canadian National Team where he had the opportunity to play against other national teams including Northern Ireland and the Czech Republic at the Ballymena Tournament in N. Ireland.

In May 2004 Robert played center defender for the Cal-North - District II ODP team. The next year he was selected for the very strong Cal-N State ODP Team in the same position. Robert missed the Region IV ODP selection process the following year due to a knee injury.
