Friday, March 21

TAMPA – The only match being played this weekend in United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League will take place on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00AM EST. Ironbound SC will play host to Parsippany SC’s U14 boys. Ironbound ended the 2007 U13 boy’s season with a record of 10-2-2 while Parsippany finished 2-11-1. Group B of the Mid Atlantic U14 division kicked off the season last week when Red Bull New York fell 2-0 to Player Development Academy.

About Parsippany SC
Parsippany SC competed in two USL Championship matches last season, winning the Women’s Super-20 League title in August 1-0 over Quickstrike SC and falling, 1-0 to Arsenal FC in the U15 finale. The U15 side went 2-0-1 in their group at the North American Finals, giving up just one goal and advancing to the championship with a 4-2 victory over the defending U14 champion Chicago Magic in the semifinals.

The Super-20 women, led by Super-20 League MVP Ingrid Wells (Georgetown University) lost just two matches in 2007 – none of which came during the Super-20 Finals in Epping, New Hampshire. The side outscored opponents 35 to 9 during the regular season and 11 to 2 during their championship weekend in New Hampshire.

About Ironbound SC
Ironbound SC had a record of 37-49-19 in the Super Y-League last season. Their top side was their U13 boys, who ended the regular season with the aforementioned record of 10-2-2. Ironbound’s U13 side missed out on the chance to represent the Mid Atlantic Division in the North American Finals by just two points. Their ten wins and two draws were good enough for 32 points –sixth in the 15-team division but just one point behind the New Jersey Junior Stallions and two points behind FC Delco.

Now, in the U14 bracket, Ironbound will try and advance out of Group C in 2008. That group contains Match Fit Academy, Parsippany SC, Quickstrike FC and the NJ Rangers FC.
