SYL Week 3
California joins the Mid Atlantic Division in the 2008 season
Wednesday, March 26

TAMPA, FL – The De Anza Force’s U13 and U15 girls will face the Bayside Soccer Academy this weekend. The match will officially open the 2008 Super Y-League season on the West Coast. Back on the East Coast, the Mid Atlantic Division of the league continues with three matches: Brooklyn Knights U17 girls at TSF Academy, Parsippany SC at Match Fit Academy and the New Jersey Junior Stallions at Ironbound SC. All matches are scheduled for Saturday, March 29.

About Match Fit Academy
Match Fit Academy will feature teams in the Super Y-League’s U13-U15 age groups on both the girls and boys side in 2008. They will also field a Super-20 League Men’s and Women’s side. In 2007, Match Fit Academy went 34-30-23 in Super Y-League play. Their best showing was in the U13 girls division where the club went 9-3-2 and finished second to Quickstrike SC in the Group A standings (Quickstrike proved they were worthy of the North American Finals bid going 2-0-1 in group play before bowing out to eventual champion, the Cleveland Internationals in the semifinals).

Brooklyn Knights
The Brooklyn Knights will field Super Y-League teams in every age group and gender for the 2008 season. They will also compete in the Super-20 Men’s and Women’s league. The Knights will be looking to reverse their fortunes from a season ago when they compiled a 43-67-18 club record. Already a formidable side, Brooklyn’s U15 Boys ran up a 10-4-1 record in 2007 only to be overshadowed by a mere point by the top three teams in the competitive division: FC Westchester, Parsippany SC and the New York Rough Riders.

De Anza Force
The De Anza Force ended the 2007 season by sending their U17 boys and U15 girls to Tampa for the North American Finals. The U17’s lost out in group play with a 1-2-0 record on the East Coast while their U15’s advanced to the semifinals only to drop a decision to the eventual champion, Cleveland Internationals. Their club record was 56-49-17. This year the club will field teams in all ten of the existing divisions playing under the Super Y-League banner.

Bayside Soccer Academy
Bayside will join the ranks of the Northern California Division for the 2008 Super Y-League season. They will feature teams in nine of the ten divisions. Bayside will also field a Super-20 Men’s team. They played last season as members of the San Francisco United Soccer Club.
