FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Plantation Eagles FC announced today plans to join United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League for the upcoming 2008 season. The club will field teams in the U13, U14, U15 and U17 age divisions in both, boys and girls, Super Y-League competition. Plantation begins SYL play on Sunday, May 18 with two home matches against FC Sarasota and two away games against Orlando FC.

“We look forward to playing against all of the teams in the league and are especially excited to face some of the out-of-the-area teams that we do not see very often,” said Plantation Eagles FC President Mike Rowan. “We anticipate much success and are anxiously awaiting the first whistle on May 18th. This is an excellent opportunity for our players to excel on a higher level.”

The Plantation Eagles Football Club is one of the oldest and largest clubs of its type in South Florida. It is a premier soccer club featuring competitive teams for boys and girls. Acceptance into the Super Y-League is a great accomplishment for the club.

Director of Coaching John Ramos has been working on improving both the exposure and competitive level for the past three years. In the past, Plantation has worked closely with the highly successful Kendall Soccer Coalition, by having many players participate in the Super Y-League under the Kendall SC banner. The next logical progression was our acceptance into this fantastic organization.
“We are very excited to participate in the Super Y-League,” said Ramos.
