BOCA RATON, FL – Schulz Academy U13 and U14 girls captured full points during Week 22 of the Super Y-League with 5 wins but saw their older counterparts, the U15 and U17 girls, manage to earn just one point between them. This year is the first time Schulz Academy has fielded more than one girls’ team in the Super Y-League. However two out of the four teams are still mathematically alive for qualification to the North American Finals. Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) scored 10 goals and had five assists during Week 22. While her strike partner Donish Cole (’95) scored nine goals and eight assists over the same stretch.
U13 Girls vs. RSL Florida The U13 girls returned from a six week summer break to face RSL Florida on Friday, August 1 at Magic Jack Park. Donish Cole (’95), Dominique Cole (’97) and Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) each scored two goals, Sarah Coy (’95), Kaitlyn Docherty (’95), Brianna Raaf (’95), and Laurie Scott (’95) each scored one goal in the 10-0 win for Schulz. In the game, Sidney Morales-Parodie, Donish Cole, and Sarah Coy each had two assists, Hannah Coy (’96), Samantha Mendez (’95) and Elizabeth Caputo (’95) each had one assist. Cheyenne Walker (’94) recorded her fifth shutout behind defenders Hannah Coy (’96), Samantha Mendez (’95), Elizabeth Caputo (’95), Laurie Scott (’95), and Brianna Raaf (’95).
U13 Girls vs. Sunrise On Saturday the U13 girls travelled to Nob Hill Park to face Sunrise SC. Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) lead all scorers with four goals and one assist. Donish Cole (’95) scored three goals and had three assists. Defender Brianna Raaf (’95) scored three unassisted goals dribbling from within her own half on two occasions. Sarah Coy (’95) scored two goals and had one assist. Kaitlyn Docherty (’95) scored one goal and one assist. Dominique Cole (’97) scored one goal and Samantha Mendez (’95) had one assist. The final score was 14-0. Goalkeeper Cheyenne Walker (’94) got shutout number six with her defensive line made up of Hannah Coy (’96), Samantha Mendez (’95), Elizabeth Caputo (’95), Laurie Scott (’95), and Brianna Raaf (’95).

U14 Girls vs. Sunrise Having tied Sunrise SC earlier in the season, the U14 girls entered the return away match on Saturday knowing full well that Sunrise SC could not be underestimated. Donish Cole (’95) hooked up early with Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) to get Schulz off to a good start. Sidney scored to give Schulz the lead, 1-0. Sunrise SC responded with a goal of their own to level the score, 1-1. Minutes later Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) got on the end of another pass from Donish Cole (’95) to make the score 2-1. Donish Cole (’95) then intercepted a Sunrise pass and dribbled around two defenders and the goalkeeper to score an unassisted goal. Brittany Polly (’93) laid off a drop pass to Arielle Gonzales (’93) who hit a 25 yard shot to put Schulz up 4-1 to end the half.
The second half resumed with Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) turning supplier as she found Arielle Gonzales (’93) who scored her second of the game. Good work from Donish Cole (’95) saw her find Tatiana Lestido (’94) who scored her first goal of the season. Donish Cole (’95) then ran under a Brittany Polly (’93) punt, out paced the defense, and dribbled the goalkeeper to score her second. Megan Sweeny (’93) found Donish Cole (’95) who scored her third goal of the game to give Schulz Academy an 8-1 win. Merridith Delinois (’93) lead a strong defensive effort by her backline consisting of Sara Bellante (’93), Julia Frederick (’94), and Bailey Mudrick (’93).
U14 Girls vs. Weston SC The U14 girls closed out the weekend at Magic Jack Park playing host to Weston SC. Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) who is in good form would open the scoring for Schulz after collecting a through-ball from Arielle Gonzales (’93). It was Sidney’s ninth goal this weekend and she would add five assists on the weekend as well. Brittany McDowell (’93) scored a nice goal with her left from 20 yards away to make the score 2-0. Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) then found Paulina Speckmaier (’94) who scored to make the final score 3-0. Megan Sweeney (’93) and Brittany Polly (’93) combined for the shutout while defenders Sara Bellante (’93) and Merridith Delinois (’93) left nothing to chance in preserving the clean sheet for Schulz.
U13 Girls vs. Weston SC The U13 Girls were at home to Weston SC on Wednesday, August 6. Weston fielded a very game side and looked lively at the start of the match. Sidney Morales-Parodie (’94) scored the opener for Schulz when she collected a pass from Dominique Cole (’97). However, Weston struck back moments later to level the score off a corner kick. Midway through the second half Donish Cole (’95) took a throw-in from Samantha Mendez (’95) and turned to find a seam where she dribbled by four defenders to drive home the game winner past the Weston goalkeeper. Sarah Coy (’95) closed out the scoring when she collected a pass from Yulie Lopez (’94) and drove home a hard right foot shot. Final score Schulz Academy 3, Weston SC 1.
