TAMPA, FL – The Girls Midwest Division entrants are starting to take shape as the 10th anniversary of the Super Y-League North American Finals that will be held Friday, November 21 to Tuesday, November 25 in Tampa, Florida draws near.

U17 Girls
The Cleveland Internationals and Fort Wayne Fever started the 2008 Super Y-League season against each other with a 3-3 tie and finished the 2008 campaign in a tie as well, this time in points at the top of the Midwest. Both teams cruised to identical 5-0-1 records in claiming the two spots to Tampa allotted to their division. With a slightly better goal differential, the Fever claimed the top spot and did so with a powerful offense that connected on 45 goals in only six games. The Internationals, although scoring their fair share of goals, dominated defensively and only allowed one goal in their final five regular season games.

U16 Girls
TKO Premier SC and the Chicago Magic were the class of this age group and both will be making the trip to the North American Finals in Tampa. The Magic can still win the outright title if they win their final two games. However, one of those games is a match against TKO, the team that handed Chicago their only loss of the season. The Magic will try to avenge that loss and in the process take a giant step in gaining the top seed from the Midwest Division when the two teams get together on Saturday, August 9.

U15 Girls
The Cleveland Internationals continued their history of strong play by winning the Midwest Division with a record of 7-1. The Internationals won their first seven games on the season and outscored their opponents in the process by a margin of 47-4. Cleveland will be one of the favorites when the Super Y-League North American Finals get underway in November.

Another dangerous team to look out for is the Kalamazoo Kingdom. The Kingdom finished with a record of 6-1-1 and was the only team to defeat the Internationals this season. After failing to get a win in their first two games, Kalamazoo finished the season on a tear by going perfect in their final six contests.

U14 Girls
The Kalamazoo Kingdom won Group B in the Midwest Division and will be joining the long list Kalamazoo teams to be traveling to Tampa in November. The Kingdom finished on top of Group B with a record of 4-2-1. Kalamazoo will be heading to Tampa at the top of their game as they finished the regular season with three straight wins in which they outscored their opponents 12-1.

U13 Girls
Four teams, two from each group, were battling it out the entire season to see who would not only be division champions, but who would be traveling to Tampa to compete for the larger prize. In Group A the West Michigan Fire Juniors and Alliance Academy were fighting it out for group supremacy. When the dust settled it was the West Michigan Fire Juniors who were victorious and their U13 club will be the sole representative of the West Michigan Fire Juniors in Tampa.

Over in Group B, Midwest Division rivals Cleveland Internationals and Kalamazoo Kingdom were going against each other for the top spot. On the strength of an unbeaten run of five games to close out the season, the Internationals won the group by three points. Cleveland finished with a record of 6-2-2 and led all teams in the Midwest Division with 21 goals scored.
