TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced today the U16 Boys and Girls All-Tournament Teams following the 10th Annual North American Finals, held November 21 through November 25 in Tampa, Florida. Selections were based off the nominations of opposing coaches made throughout tournament play.

Highlighting the U16 Girls division was tournament MVP Victoria Dunn of the Chicago Magic, who scored the only goal in her team’s 1-0 win over Real So Cal Blue of Southern California in the U16 Girls Final. Dunn is joined on the All-Tournament Team by fellow Chicago Magic midfielder Christina Reed and forward Shayla Mutz.

In tournament play, the Magic went 4-0-1, drawing Mountain WFC, 2-2 on the opening day of group play. Their opponents in the final, Real So Cal (3-1-1) had two players named to the All-Tournament Team. Forward Michelle Manning, who earned a vote from every opposing coach she faced, and defender Kelsey Reichow.

Real So Cal played Parsippany SC (2-1-1) to a 2-2 draw in the semifinal. That match required a penalty kick decision, which the Southern Californians claimed 5-4 to move onto the ultimate match of the tournament. Parsippany also had two players, Rebecca Krakora and Rebecca Kape, named to the All-Tournament Team. The fourth semifinalist, the Ottawa Fury’s Alexandra Vrany and Dominique Scapillati earned All-Tournament nods as well.

The U16 Boys Champions, Mountain WFC named defender Paul Clerc the MVP of the tournament following their 2-0 win over TSF Academy in the final. Clerc’s teammate, forward Yeo Yoon tied with several other players by receiving three votes from opposing coaches, the most of any player. The third Mountain WFC player that earned an All-Tournament Selection was Yoon’s running-mate up top, Paul Piche. Through the regular season, Mountain scored the most goals of any team in the Northwest Division (31). That trend continued at the North American Finals as Mountain WFC found the back of the net 13 times in five games, a goal-scoring average of 2.6 per game.

On the other side of the bracket, TSF Academy quietly went 3-0-0 during the group play stage of the tournament, downing Sunrise SC, Juventus SC and Kalamazoo by a combined total of 7-0. TSF continued to play well in the semifinal, edging Kendall SC 1-0 before dropping the championship match, 2-0. TSF had both their star forwards, Casey McNamara and Jeffery McLaughlin named to the All-Tournament Team. The duo combined to earn four votes from opposing coaches throughout the tournament.
