Ron Alber Joins Rough Riders Former SYL Championship coach named Director of Player Identification

PLAINVIEW, NY – The Long Island Rough Riders are pleased to announce the hiring of Ron Alber as the Director of Player Identification for the Rough Riders women's W-League team. In this capacity, Ron will also assist in the continued development of the Junior Rough Riders program.
For over a decade, Ron Alber has been a leader in the training, coaching and development of nationally competitive and recognized teams and players. Ron's coaching accomplishments are numerous, including winning the 2003 Super-Y League National Championship, multiple state championships, and coaching elite level female soccer players like Boston College and U.S. Women's National Team U-20 World Cup championship soccer team standout player Gina DiMartino, as well as C.J. Ludemann of St. John's University, Kelly Eagan of Villanova, and a roster of many others.
Ron will assist with player development for the Junior Rough Riders program while identifying qualified players for the Rough Riders women's team. "Ron has already assisted us with player recruitment, including 2008 USL Defender of the Year, Sue Weber," said Flavio Ferri, General Manager of the Rough Riders.
In addition, "Ron has a wealth of coaching experience and has formed outstanding youth teams and has helped develop countless Long Island players," said Ferri. As the Director of Player Identification for the Rough Riders, Ron will work closely with the Rough Riders Coaching Director to ensure the continued success of all Junior Rough Riders teams that compete in the Super Y-League.
