Super Y-League News Release

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2012 Super Y-League North American Finals U16 Girls All-Tournament Team was announced today with champions Triangle FC placing three players on the team, including Golden Boot winner Caroline Houser. Houser tallied five goals and two assists as her team cruised to the title,  defeating the New York Magic 3-1 in the championship.

Houser is joined on the team by her sister Emma, who chipped in two goals for a defense that allowed six goals in five games. Goalkeeper Katherine Blair was also selected. 

The 2012 All-Tournament Teams were selected by USL staff based on tournament statistics, ODP nominations submitted by tournament coaches, and recommendations from the USL Technical Staff. The 2012 Super Y-League North American Finals were held December 7-11 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

The Magic placed a pair of players on the team, with forward Orla Martin contributing three goals and an assist and defender Julia Shea helping to lead the tournament's stingiest defense. Rounding out the defensive selections are Orlando City Youth Soccer's Victoria Covas, who received three nominations, and TSF Academy's Jillian Sprong.

A pair of midfielders were selected, led by Nordic Soccer Club's Haliana Burhans, who scored three goals, and Marisa Bentley from Quickstrike FC, who netted two goals. Joining Houser and Martin at forward are FC America workhorse Casey Brown, who scored three times, and Orlando City playmaker Evelyn Neidert, who scored twice and assisted on three goals.
