In a Saturday, January 12 feature article on USLSoccer.com, the Rage SC’s Corey Hertzog discussed his take on the Super Y-League ODP National Camps, his trip to Germany and the Czech Republic with the 2007 Super Y-League Select Team and his upcoming freshman season at Penn State University. Just over nine months later, Hertzog has utilized his Super Y-League experience, netting his first two goals in an upset victory over No. 17 Ohio State.

Last season the Southern California/Coast Soccer League charge into United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League North American Finals was led by Arsenal FC, who won both the U14 and U15 boys titles. And with seven of their 11 matches this season completed, at least one of those sides still has a chance at becoming repeat champs.

North American Finals field nears completion
Only seven of 140 qualification positions remain open for the 10th Annual Super Y-League North American Finals, set to kickoff from Tampa, Florida on Friday, November 21. Five seems to be the magic number this season as MPS Boston, the Northern Virginia Royals/Majestics, Ottawa Fury and Mountain WFC all qualified five teams for the largest youth soccer league finals in North America. But the biggest winner during the Super Y-League regular season in 2008 was the Kalamazoo Kingdom.
