TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Wednesday the Super Y-League Olympic Development Program Select Teams for the U13, U14 and U15 Boys SYL ODP National Camps held last weekend at the Cocoa Expo Center in Cocoa, Florida.

The first set of camps featured U13-U15 players with 54 of the nearly 400 players being named to SYL ODP Select Teams upon review by the SYL Scouting System, SYL ODP National Camp Technical Director Perry Van Der Beck and U17 Men’s National Team Assistant Coach Raul Diaz Arce.

“The kids did a phenomenal job this weekend,” said Van Der Beck. “We were impressed with their performances, which made the selection process for the Nationwide Select Teams very difficult.”

Players were evaluated on their technique, tactics, fitness and psychology and will receive written reports for feedback on their performances.

The busy SYL schedule continues with New England, Metro, Mid Atlantic and South Atlantic Division meetings at the NSCAA Convention January 14-16 in Baltimore.

The SYL ODP National Camps continue with U14-U15 Girls January 21-23, U16-U17 Boys January 28-30 and U16-U17 Girls February 4-6.

The upcoming U16-U17 SYL ODP National Camp will feature the US U17 National Team residency program, based in Bradenton, Florida, competing in two matches against select players from the SYL U17 and U16 camps, providing a unique opportunity for the nation’s top SYL players to show their talent in direct relation to those in the current US U17 player pool.
