Super Y-League announces ODP National Camp Dates

Cocoa Expo to provide facilities for top youth soccer players in U.S.

July 22, 2004 - Tampa, Fla. - The Super Y-League announced today that the Cocoa Expo in Cocoa Beach, Florida, will host the 2004 season Olympic Development Program (ODP) National Identification Camps in January of 2005.

Once selected to the National Camp, players will be evaluated by U.S. Soccer National Staff Coaches for U.S. National Team Programs. Players will also be evaluated by the league's ODP National Staff Coaches for selection to the Super Y-League National ODP Team.

Super Y-League Announces New ODP Structure for 2004 Season

Successful 2003 program makes new changes for players

(Tampa, Fla., May 11, 2004) - The Super Y-League 2003 season concluded with the successful completion of a new Olympic Development Program in the United States. Since then the SYL National ODP Staff and the league office have designed and modified the ODP system for the 2004 season to create more oppertunities for players to be identified to U.S. National Team Programs.

Super Y-League receives Olympic Development Program Status

TAMPA, FL � United Soccer Leagues announced today that the Super Y-League has been granted Olympic Development status effective immediately for the Super Y-League Finals to be held in Raleigh, North Carolina next week. The Super Y-League officially received the designation from the United States Soccer Federation and the United States Olympic Committee at the U.S. Soccer AGM in San Francisco last week. �This is a great step for the advancement of the sport in this country,� said USL President Francisco Marcos. �The Olympic Development Program status will enhance the Super Y-League�s efforts to develop and identify players.� The ODP status will also apply to a Regional Team program, which will be launched during the league�s fifth season next year. This will allow for elite level players that compete in the Super Y-League to be scouted through league play.
