Ribatejo / Oeste

 

The Riba Oeste Festival title comes from the two contiguous regions of the Ribatejo, the bull fighting breeding region bordering the River Tejo and the Oeste, the western region of Portugal famous for wine and its windmills. Twelve communities in these two regions will host the inaugural junior football festival.  All Riba-Oeste sites will be within 1-3 driving hours of all Euro 2004 host stadiums.  For detailed information on these two regions please visit the site of the Oeste and the Ribatejo.

           

            Riba – Oeste Festival Sites

The Festival Headquarters will be located at the Praia Del Rey Golf and Country Club, the home of USL Founder / President Francisco Marcos who will serve the organizing host of the festival; Praia Del Rey, one of Europe’s leading golf communities, will also be a host site for Euro 2004.  For more on Praia Del Rey go to http://www.praia-del-rey.com/praia-del-rey/default.asp?bhcp=1  .

 

The opening ceremonies, inaugural game and all championship matches will be staged at the prestigious Centro de Estagios of Rio Maior, also a Euro 2004 host site and training center for various Portuguese and foreign national teams including seven Major League Soccer, MLS, teams in the past three years. Other playing sites of the Riba – Oeste Festival include the Oeste communities of Caldas da Rainha, Lourinhã, Óbidos, Peniche, Torres Vedras, Alcobaca and Marinha Grande.  Host sites in Ribatejo will come in the communities of Santarem, Abrantes, Almeirim, Coruche, Cartaxo, Alcanena, Torres Novas and Entrocamento.
