Rules of Competition
All Super Y-League North American Finals rules of competition apply as stated in the Super Y-League Handbook with the below modifications:
Game Duration
All pool play matches and playoff matches will be 80 minutes in duration with a 10 minute half-time Only the final Championship match for both Men and Women will have 45 minute halves and a 15 minute half-time.
Overtime
Overtime will be used in the semi-finals and final matches only. Overtime will consist of two (2) full ten (10) minute overtime periods and is not sudden death/golden goal. Kicks from the mark shall be used if the match remains tied at the completion of overtime.

3. Goal Differential
4. Goals Scored
5. FIFA Fair Play - Team with fewest disciplinary points in Group play
6. FIFA Kicks from the mark (to take place at 5:00 PM before the 6:00 PM Men’s Semifinal)
Score Sheets
- The designated home team on the schedule is responsible for designating a scorekeeper for the match. The scorekeeper is responsible for all information on the score sheet. The scorekeeper should report to the table at the center of the field, where he/she will be given the score sheet. At the completion of the match, the score sheet shall be collected by the field manager. In event that the home team does not provide or submits an incomplete score sheet, one-point shall be deducted from the teams standings for the event. A completed score sheet includes all players, cautions/ejections, substitutions, goals, assists, score totals for each half and the total at the end of the game as well as proper post-game signatures.
Substitutions
Substitutes shall report to the fourth official or assistant referee at midfield and may not enter the field without the permission of the referee. US Club Soccer passes are the only required documentation (substitute passes are no longer used and rosters will have already been checked).
Regulation Time
A team may have no more than 18 players eligible for games off of the 26 player roster. Each team is allowed 7 substitutes per half. A player may be substituted once in the first half. Once the player has been substituted the player may not re-enter the match until the second half. Once player is substituted in the second half, they may not re-enter the match during the rest of the regulation play.
Overtime
If a match continues in overtime, the overtime period must start with the players that completed the second half of the match and team may have a maximum of 3 substitutions before or during the overtime period. The 3 substitutions may contain players that were substituted in the first or second half of the match and these substitutions can take place during either overtime period.
Uniforms
The designated home team shall wear light colored uniforms. The designated visiting team shall wear dark colored uniforms.
Cautions and Suspensions
- If a player has an outstanding suspension from the end of the regular season, he or she shall serve it starting on the first day of group play.
- Three (3) yellow cards to an individual player during group play will result in a one game suspension. These do not carry over beyond group play.
- Two cautions followed by a red will result in player suspension for the remainder of the match as well as the following game.
- The league staff will review straight send-offs. Pending the reason for the send-off a player shall serve the minimum of a one game suspension. In event of serious foul play, violent conduct, referee assault or referee abuse, a player/coach may be suspended for more than one match by the league.
