S20 MVP/PDL Stars Get 1st Team Shot

"We are excited to identify two players capable of playing with the first team from our open tryout," said Fire Senior Manager of Player Development, Paul Cadwell. "We were obviously aware of both players coming into the tryout. Now that they have been given a chance, the onus is on them to grab it."

USL Opens S-20 Finals Bidding Process

“Each season we have had players who competed in the Super-20 League Finals move on to play professionally,” said USL Senior Director of Youth League Development, Jeff McRaney. “In the cases of Ingrid Wells and Bryan Arguez, we have had players immediately join the US U20 National Team for FIFA U-20 World Cups. It is always positive to have your latest event be your most successful. That is certainly the case as our 2009 North American Finals contained four players who were drafted in the top two rounds of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft.”

Tampa Bay Premier SYL Tryouts

“Competing in the Super Y-League is an opportunity for high-level, competitive players to compete over the summer months with direct benefits,” said Sims. “The SYL will improve a player’s technical level of play and speed of execution by exposing them to intense levels of competition from teams outside of the Tampa Bay area.”

A Dream Come True

"It is very gratifying for the club and the coaching staff to see graduates from our youth program such as Eddie Edward enjoying stellar varsity careers and earning opportunities to play soccer in the professional ranks," said Ottawa Fury CEO John Pugh. "The club would like to extend huge congratulations to Eddie and wish him all the best in future endeavors on and off the pitch."
